About the Owner
Terri is here to provide you with help and professional care!
Terese Strathern Misencik, the sole owner of Psychological and Wellness Management since 2017, is a licensed counselor. She is also a certified yoga instructor and meditation coach. Terri has been trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help patients manage stress and cope more effectively. She has more than 34 years of experience in working in the behavioral health field.
Terri has a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Cleveland State University. She provides yoga instruction and meditation alongside individual, couples, and family therapy.
For over 8 years, Terri has worked in community mental health settings, providing drug and alcohol assessments, group work, coordination with probation officers, and testimony in court on behalf of her clients. Meanwhile, she has had over 15 years of experience in the private practice sector—treating clients from ages 5 to 85—and has worked with a geriatric psychiatrist in treating the elderly. Having developed intensive outpatient programs (IOP), she has also specialized in providing care with the use of MBSR on the more intensive level.
Terri has taught psychology courses at Lakeland Community College and Ursuline College for over 12 years, with a specialty in the education of students in child development and lifespan. She has taught psychology college courses at NDCL High School. She is qualified to provide education in dialectical behavior (DBT) and cognitive skills (CBT) to help her clients cope with difficulties in their lives and to bring about healing and recovery.
Terri is a member of the North American Association of Masters in Psychology and the American Psychological Association. She also takes pride in being an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC).
